Rosemary and Paul, Helen and I had a wonderful weekend at music festival at Majors Creek with Marnie and Randall. We were spoilt rotten and it ended all too soon.

Time to eat (again!!!) - Yum!

Went to a site to collect a rare Pultenaea (P. pedunculata)only to find that it had attained the ultimate rare status, now being totally protected by about 5 m of dirt plus the M7 Motorway on top of it!. Anyway found some nice Mentha - anyone for roast lamb?

Terrible fires strike Victoria and NSW

Nana had to get assistance from the police to get from Natimuk back to Horsham because of the dense smoke from the fires. Hellmut and Denise sat in their cellar during the fire storm that swept through Kinglake. Fortunately their house was spared and there is still some wine left!

Many people killed and houses lost in the Marysville area but no-one reports the loss to the animals and plants that is just as devastating. But, some animals get relief ...

Blair returns home to Santiago

First Night of the Sydney Festival

Helen, Mary and I went into the Sydney Festival - part of the crowd waiting for "The Cat Empire" concert to begin. They were fantastic. Helen and Mary had to wander the city for some food because the queues at the Domain were ridiculously long!

The stars finally found a fish and chips shop and returned for the fun - it is easy to amuse some people for hours and hours and hours!

We watched about half of the Grace Jones concert, but it did not quite work in such a large open-air venue. However she has an amazing voice and is very striking. On the way back to the train station we saw the "The Pyrophone Juggernaut" - a fire-fuelled musical spectacle. Absolutely amazing. I think that they should introduce the instrument to all Public Primary Schools' Music Departments
